Manhattan Beach is one of my favorite places for maternity photos because it is so stunning. With its beautiful shoreline, charming pier, and jaw-dropping sunsets, it’s the perfect place for maternity photos. Whether you live nearby or are planning a visit, this spot has plenty of gorgeous backdrops.
Best Photo Spots at Manhattan Beach
- The Pier: The Manhattan Beach Pier is a classic.
- The Greenbelt: This cute pathway has such lovely greenery and give a completely different vibe for photos!
- The Beach: Of course, the beach itself is a winner and I have the perfect recommendation for a little more privacy and plenty of parking!
Best Times for a Beach Photoshoot
- Golden Hour (Sunrise and Sunset): The soft, warm light at sunrise and sunset makes for dreamy photos. Plus, the beach is usually less crowded.
- Early Morning: If you’re up for it, the early morning light is fantastic and the beach is nice and peaceful. This is especially true when we are experiencing a marine layer
- Late Afternoon: If you have kids who need to make their bedtime I totally get that and we can still create magic in the late afternoon!
Getting Ready for Your Manhattan Beach Maternity Photo Session
- Outfits: Pick outfits that make you feel amazing. Flowy dresses, fitted gowns that show off your bump, and soft, neutral colors look great on the beach. Coordinate with your partner for a cute, cohesive look. I have a client closet for mamas to borrow from as well!
- Props and Accessories: Bring a few meaningful props like baby shoes or ultrasound photos.
- Hydration and Snacks: Stay hydrated and bring some snacks for the kiddos that get them excited about being here!
- Beauty Prep: Treat yourself to a little pampering before the shoot. A fresh manicure, light makeup, and styled hair can make you feel even more confident.
